It looks like NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1010 might finally be becoming a reality, after a leaked benchmark appeared online recently. Unfortunately, it looks like the card may be a bit of a disappointment, as it appears to be slower than even the most basic of GPUs currently on the market.
The benchmark, which was posted on the 3DMark database, shows the GTX 1010 scoring just over 1,000 points in the Fire Strike test. That’s well below even the most basic GPUs currently on the market, such as the GTX 1050, which can easily score over 3,000 points in the same test.
It’s possible that the GTX 1010 is still in early development and that it will see a significant performance boost before it launches. However, at this point it looks like it may be a good idea to wait for the next generation of GPUs before upgrading your graphics card.
Unfortunately It’s Slower Than A Snail
We were all hoping for a powerful new GTX 1010, but unfortunately it looks like it’s going to be slower than a snail. The new benchmark leak confirms that the GTX 1010 is only slightly faster than the GTX 960, and even then, it’s only marginally so. It looks like NVIDIA has dropped the ball on this one.
The GeForce GTX 1010 is an entry-level graphics card
The GeForce GTX 1010 is an entry-level graphics card from NVIDIA. It is based on the same GP108 GPU as the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti, but with only 640 CUDA cores instead of 768 or 1024. As a result, it is significantly less powerful than even the 1050 Ti.
The GTX 1010 was first leaked in early 2018, and was finally released in October 2018. It is currently the slowest graphics card in NVIDIA’s lineup, and is only recommended for very basic gaming or for use as a budget HTPC card.
It is based on the older Pascal architecture
The GeForce GTX 1010 is based on the older Pascal architecture, which means that it’s not as powerful as the newer GTX 16xx cards. However, it is still a decent performer, especially for budget-conscious gamers.
The GTX 1010 is not suitable for gaming
The GTX 1010 is not suitable for gaming for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is significantly slower than even the most entry-level graphics cards on the market. Secondly, it does not support features that are important for gaming, such as DirectX 12. Finally, it is not powerful enough to run the latest games at acceptable framerates.
