I often come across the status 7 error message while installing a custom rom on my Samsung Galaxy mobile phone. This is the easiest way to go around this error and continue installing the firmware that you want to on your Android device.
Status 7 errors are caused when the ROM’s updater script file checks to see if the phone model of your phone is compatible for the ROM you are installing. These Asserts are a safety mechanism so you don’t accidentally install another phone model’s ROM on your phone. E.g. Installing a Galaxy S3 ROM on a Galaxy S4 and ending up hard-bricking your phone.
Now, this safety mechanism is great but there are times where even if you have the correct ROM for your phone, you will get Status 7 error. This happens when the developer is working on this ROM for another phone model as well and he may forget to change the script while releasing it for a particular device. I hope this video will help you install your favorite ROMs without worrying about any errors.
Please note that rooting/installing a custom rom can void your warranty and can also damage your device if not done properly, please do it at your own risk.
